another great collaboration: blue palace crockery by themis • z

Impeccable and refined. Traditional, yet modern at the same time. When Cretan hospitality meets the finest Greek craftsmanship, then the experience of dining reaches new heights in modern luxury.

Inspired by the name of the hotel itself, Blue Palace, Resort and Spa at Elounda in Crete and the crystal hues of the Aegean Sea, Themis Zouganeli, founder and designer of THEMIS • Z luxury lifestyle brand, created a bespoke fine porcelain tableware. Handcrafted in Greece by skilled craftsmen and adorned with individual hand-painted motifs, Blue Palace’s bespoke crockery speaks for itself.

Influenced by the fainted blue hue found to enhance the motifs of the impressive ancient ceramic pots, once used in Crete’s palaces to store olive oil or water, the designer chose Raf blue in order to deliver the essence of the Ancient Greek decorative arts.

Impressed by the Cretan landscape, an astonishing contrast of snow-caped mountains and lush valleys, Themis Zouganeli was especially inspired by the beautiful pure white flower known to grow close to the sea in the hot sand, commonly known as the Sea Daffodil or lily of Knossos. This elegant white flower, which was once used as inspiration for Minoan artists who depicted its beauty in the Cretan Palace of Knossos, now continues to do just that as it appears in full bloom on the tableware making the experience of dining even more delightful.
