As an act of love and social responsibility, Themis Zouganeli has designed an exclusive line of beach bags not only designed for elegant summer outfits, but also in support of HOPEgenesis, a Greek Non Profit Organization aiming to provide medical care and treatment for women during their pregnancy in remote or isolated areas of Greece lacking maternity facilities.
Like every THEMIS Z pattern, the Kyma pattern draws inspiration from Greek Architecture and impressively unravels its own story. As a modern approach to the corrugated ornamental motifs that were once depicted on the frescoes of the Minoan civilization in Crete, but also inspired by the curvy lines of Greek Architecture, the profession initially pursued by Themis Zouganeli, the iconic Kyma pattern manages to transfer the past to the present.
In shades of blue, red and green, the Kyma pattern is embroidered by hand on the front side of the bag and with good cause these canvas beach bags are selling out fast. A special piece of the series is the Mykonos beach bag decorated with two halves of the Kyma pattern and the name of Mykonos dominating among them, indicating the designer's love for the island of the winds.
* 20% of the proceeds of the Kyma beach bags will be donated to the NGO HOPEgenesis all year round. You can purchase them online here, in THEMIS Z flagship stores and in other cooperating stores.
